This. Most runs can be pretty easily salvaged through player skill, but streamers tend to be shitters who can't play vidya.

I mean, it's definitely skill-based, you can make just about anything work with good reflexes/movement, and it's almost always your own fault for dying. But on the other hand, getting good treasure/trinkets makes the game massively easier/more manageable. I have a policy of not abandoning runs until death, but sometimes your luck is just total dogshit and there's no hope. I haven't played any other roguelikes really, but I'm sure they work about the same way.
