When did /v/ become such faggots about indie games? I've seen multiple threads shitting on Microsofts conference for having a lot of indie games and I don't see why that's a bad thing if they look good? Indies have their own shortcoming like relying on the roguelike and pixelart meme too often but they're still putting out far more ambitious and creative works than anything coming out of AAA.
The Last Light looks like a gorgeous blend of Blade Runner and Another World. Artful Escape is bringing back rhythm adventure games. Darwin Project bringing back arena shooters. Ori is gonna be great like the last one I'm sure. Cuphead is finally coming and has me salivating.
Superhot did the most original thing with shooters that's been seen in years. VA-11 HALL-A was a cyberpunk bar sim VN where else are you gonna get that shit. And everyone is saying Hollow Knight is GOTY already.
tl;dr I don't get why you're all such faggots. AAA gaming is all about chasing the trend and homogenizing everything into Ubisoft open world ripoffs right now meanwhile indies are the only ones that take risks anymore. And when an indie game is shit it just goes away (No Man's Sky, Mighty No. 9) when a AAA is shit it's force fed to the audience through marketing budgets.

Risks. All they do is remake old games as "homages" when they're actually just ripping off the game and even its resources. I'd much rather be playing Bloodborne, Nioh, Tier & Yakuza 0 over any of that trash. Triple Ass games suck, but I don't see how that makes indie games any better when they're just the garage bands of gaming. Fuck them both. Bring back medium budget games like the ones I mentioned.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed all those games but you're proving my point. Even the "good" AAA games are just aping what sells over and over.
Indies have their own shit but they also do more unique things in the medium. You immediately jump to remaking and "homaging" despite the fact that none of the indies I listed were homages other than arguably Hollow Knight to Metroid if simply making a Metroidvania is an homage.
