Nope. This is not a "co-op" game you play risk free with your friends. You get effectively double the health with an ember and a summon, the balancing factor for that is that you have to deal with invaders.

...and they can't even really grief anymore. They'll never be a higher soul level or have better weapons than you do. All you have to do is win an unfair fight that is stacked in your favor.

Not really, especially since you enter a covenant invasion area very early. You pretty much have to start every game as a meta shitter because MLGkids will be trying to give you le true Souls experience by coming into your game with 7 +10 sips and being a vig-gouge bitch with top tier gear that they got from some savescumming fag on /dsg/.
