Sequel kept the male-female scenarios and expanded on them, and removed the idea of them being difficulty levels.

Leon has better weapons in general. Crossbow has huge spread. Grenade launch is decent, but that's it.

In contrast, shotgun and magnum are perfect.

Claire does have one super upside, the revolver unlock with the special costume, guess you can't really get it in the first playthrough though.

also RE2 had the genius of having each character have a A and B playthrough that made the character go through the routes of the other character, this was the first and last time this was done in the series, because RE2 was by far one of the best.

RE3 was equally good, but slightly shorter and your alternate paths were given to you by choices you made through out the campaign, only problem is there were 'best' choices so it wasn't so much a choice as "do this or fight more shit and get less rewards".

also that game tricks you horribly with the powder system by giving you the option of making Super pistol and shotgun rounds when its pointless, just make Freeze rounds.
