This is probably one of my favorite bossfights in vidya. I like bosses with lots of attack patterns you need to learn. It takes hours and every attempt you get a little closer, until you beat it by an inch. Just like the Lingering Will in KH2.

It's just a survival gauntlet. In the original game he would talk and it was easier to tell when you were reaching the ending. You should be close.

I got to the end of the fight, when you would get the mercy option. It seems to end there.
It's challenging, I was playing with arrow keys rather than my game pad of choice so it was a handicap.
I never did Sans fight before so that was nice to get to try it out.

The only thing I never liked about this fight is how many times it made you repeat the same patterns. I get that that's part of the point thematically but just from a game design perspective it's not super interesting to do the jump one like 5x before you get to phase two.

The game doesn't shame you at all for going genocide. In fact, it shames you only when you abandon it.

The bigger problem with genocide route is that the random encounter rate gets so low that an exploit is required to not bore yourself to death. Genocide is meant to be a soulless grind, but it shouldn't be this dull.
