I know I'm going to get a lot of shit for this, but why are linear games and open world games priced the same? I almost never pay full price for a linear game. While the story may be good I don't feel like I get a full experience. It feels like Developers have to put a lot more time and effort into developing a map and shit to do on it rather than spoon feeding you a story. Any other anons agree with this?

Not open world =/= Linear
A big empty map doesn't always add positively to the game experience.
Open world games serve to deliver a different experience compared linear games.
Pricing games based on playtime is like pricing food based on calories.
I feel like I got more out of a 10 hour playthrough of MGS1/2/3 than I did my 100 hours of MGSV

But that's wrong.
Name me a linear game that has hundreds of hours of entertainment. You can't, because you're replaying the same corridor over and over. You can't just add side quests into a linear game.
A better food analogy would be you have a package of ground turkey, and a package of ground beef. The package of ground turkey is 2 lbs and the package of ground beef is 5 lbs at the same price. They're both ground meats, different, but you get a hell of a lot more in the ground beef package.
