I'm reaching 16k and I can't with this mode anymore, if the maps weren't so fucking awful this would be bearable.

Help me do a good B team. My A team has managed to win the whole Lunatic 2 a couple of times but my Cordelia/Eirika/Lucina/Julia B team sometimes can't against Stage 7's shenanigans.

Fury isn't that good in Tempest Trials because it's all about endurance. Also drop Hector and replace him with a dancer. Speed is too important and you really don't need him if you already have Nino.

I run a similar team and you really want nino to be in a state where she can tank a reinhardt/olwen hit whilst taking out the armor with the help of a dancer on the last map. taking them both out by turn 2 really opens up the map.

Falchion healers are the best healers not named Elise apparently. I'd probably use Marth or Chrom as well if I didn't have Ike and Ryoma at the head of my two other teams. Seriously the utility and KO power is a godsend. I think I need a better A skill for Lucina tho, Fury is counterproductive but gets the kills and Defiant Speed isn't all that great.

Desperation Nino is actually the main unit in my team as she almost always can ORKO any unit while at 1HP. The rest are equipped with Vantage, Ike and Hector are +Def and have Reposition and Swap and Nowi is +Atk with Rally Def, Hone Spd and Hone Res seal, so there is good synergy. Is only when I get surrounded by ranged units in those shitty ass maps when I have trouble. The main problem comes in Round 7 where, doesn't matter how healthy my team is to that point, I get memed by Lunge, Pass and WoM, which comes more often than it should.

Ryoma is -Atk, unfortunately, while Olwen is -Def +Res iirc. I could use a Julia/Olivia team but I still need a better red and blue who can synergize with them.

Giving Julia g tomebreaker really helped my B team. I have the same A team as you but use a teleporting dancer instead of Hector so that desperation Nino can kill everything and the others only intervene if absolutely necessary. Linde has both more Speed and more Attack than Nino. If up don't follow Nino around with a speed buff she won't even double half the time.

For now the Bride banner is the best one to roll on. After that, just look out for banners that intoduce new units, rather than ones for older units.

Lunatic all the way. This is team I'm using right now. Before that, it was Titania instead of Cecilia, took her out because her HM got maxed. Robin is dead weight.

I had much better results with Titania because she had Renewal 3 and Reciprocal Aid, made sure Xander was always up and running. Olwen does pretty much everything.
This team is pretty much a jober, they usually die in the last round, and then I use Celica, Sharena, Soren and Clarine, they almost always win the last round since Celica ORKOs Veronica and Soren has G Tome Breaker.
I get around 600~700 points every run when I don't get wrecked. Also, I spent around 10 stamina potions because I really wanted the important rewards right away.

Either I'm really bad or the all tome meme is pretty good. I'm using effie/lucina/kagero and a random low level healer and I haven't won a single lunatic run.

I don't have any good units for that 4th slot and figured a healer would be cool considering damage carries onto the next map. I also don't have any units invested or even leveled to form a second team in case of the first team failing.

Fury is easily got from a 4* hinata so it's cheap. L&D3 is the only thing better than fury, it gives +2 more atk and speed, but does not come with any 4* unit which means it's a 20k feather investment.

Fury also allows nino to take one solid hit and immediately be in desperation range OR shoot up a few people and drop under the hp range naturally.

Speed is super important for score, so high mobility nuke teams tend to do well.
My suggestion is turn Lucina into your healer with Renewal, Falchion's self heal, and Reciprocal Aid or Ardent Sacrifice. My Nowi is filling that role, minus Falchion, and it works out super well.

I go full blade memesperation with Linde and Tharja, and mini buff them with Hone Attack Azura who also has the +Res seal. They both have hone speed for whenever they need help doubling, it's worked pretty well and can usually get the 705 even if one of the non-tharja heroes die.

Well I'm not 100% but I think spur attacks don't actually add to the bonus damage of -blade tomes. Basically drop the Threaten attack on Azura and giver her back the hone buff she had and then add in any unit with hone attack. And make sure one unit has the hone def/res seal. Between Tharja, Linde and a dancer you should be able to destroy most maps.

Honestly, the best advice I can give is to make a varied team that covers all the bases. Armors don't really have an answer for Hammers, so you should really consider running something that can counter those.
As well, armor team's lack of mobility really bites them in the ass in this mode, especially with the speed bonus being so important for scoring well.

I don't know how good armor teams are because I hardly use armored units. If you have cav units you can make a pretty solid team that will help you sweep those maps easily.

I've tried using mostly free units. Did a run with Alphonse, Sharena, Anna and Olivia and got as far as stage 7 without having to swap teams. It helps to have someone with renew/reciprocal aid or a dancer. I'd imagine a full armor team would have a fairly difficult time of making it 7/7 with all the anti-armor nukes the maps throw at you.

I actually subbed Camus out of my Horse Team for Nowi as I need a bonus unit and Xander/Abel/Cecilia is good enough. Camus having Fury 3 also does not help at all.

You need two turns of Fury damage to activate desperation, but don't need to waste one turn with the ardent. If you take a hit you enter the range either way. It very situational, but I much prefer the ardent + LaD setup for Tempest since 1 wasted turn in inconsequential in 7 battles.
