I have no allegiance to any of these billion dollar companies, so no console wars bullshit here. But that was just fucking awful. $499 for upscaled XB1 games, boring and visually unimpressive timed exclusives and a ton of crappy indie games. This is what happens when you have great hardware but all the midsize studios are gone, hardly anyone is onboard to push the hardware, you don't have first party studios like Nintendo to build the library, and you neglect to make deals with developers to make games for your box like Sony does.
The best looking game was Anthem and that's going to be another Destiny/online multiplayer type game with mountains of DLC and lootbox shit, and it's also a fucking multiplat. God forbid they put in the fucking time and money to make a Xenoblade X-type game with a real story and hours of content. Metro looks promising but that was clearly fake footage, also a multiplat. Crackdown looks like it has been massively downgraded, almost down to Xbox 360 graphics fidelity.
MS has talked me out of buying XB1X and talked me into upgrading my PC, since all the "exclusives" will be on Windows. They're fucked and I realistically see them falling to third place by end of the gen. Sony will continue doing their usual with a few big AAA exclusives and the continued edge on third party exclusives, while Nintendo will slowly pick up steam with their unified library consisting of many first party titles.
Microsoft fucking blew it, Western games are fucking garbage as usual.
