Only Sonyfags seem to be so hung up on them, they're the only reason to own a console which basically does nothing a PC couldn't do. I guess when you don't have a fucking huge game library spanning across decades and multiple different systems you really have to hang on to the trickle of new exclusives since that's the only thing your console is good for. I don't particularly understand the fascination otherwise, why would I get so enamored with some single new exclusive when my backlog is fuckhuge anyway and filled with games which are widely recognized as being very good?

The whole point was that your complaining about missing out on Exclusives when this issue could easily be resolved if you had a job and saved up for the system with exclusives that interest you. You know, something that everyone has been doing since the dawn of the industry? You literally proved yourself wrong by demonstrating that you have money and can resolve your own problem, but would still rather bitch about how "exclusivity is wrong".

Exclusives are literally the only thing that should ever drive someone to purchase a console.

Instead of spending $400+$40-60 for a controller every two years, you can spend $800 and get a computer that runs everything at ultra, that will last probably 8+ years.

I bought my PS4 Slim for console exclusives on the cheap. That's it. I'm done at this point. Consoles are for games and some shit graphics. PC is for customization.

No, but a console never runs at Ultra in the first place. It will naturally fall behind the PC high-end but should do fine in maintaining a console baseline, though not many people are OK with that and will likely upgrade. I mean at the tail-end of last gen when PS360 were outdated as fuck 1080p was already massively popular, there weren't many people who wanted to play at <720p <30FPS which was the console parity level, though you could do that with very cheap/old shit.

8 years may be stretching it a bit though, you will very likely want at least a graphics card upgrade in that time, though everything else should do fine.

If you're gonna sell a console shaped like a PS2 for $500, there has to be some incentive (namely: games). Doesn't help that you have to invest even more money to get something out of the other features like 4K (which the S that costs 50% less is capable of anyway)

This is the real problem, that consoles are worthless beyond their exclusives. Sony and MS don't do anything to make their machine a more interesting way to play games, it's just a slightly custom PC in a box, no real unique features at all. Nintendo may have fucked it up with the Wii U and portables aren't my cup of tea, but I can at least appreciate that they try to provide different ways to play games and different features with their consoles, they're not just a cheap PC with no extra features.
