It's easy to say that "good graphics are bad" here but I really do think the ever-increasing cost of producing graphics that push the hardware is a cancer on the industry making it harder and harder for AAA games to turn a profit. It's also shrinking AAA development down to fewer and fewer studios with the time and money at their disposal to make them.
