Play on hard or you're wasting your time.

It's a good game if you want to dungeon crawl. If you like a lot of plot you will be disappointed. Plot is very sparse with tons of dungeons without anything happening before cutscenes.
Pretty much the opposite of recent Persona games.

Use buffs retard.
World of strength.
Save and fuse as often as you can.

If you want to be eased in more gently, play Digital Devil Saga or Devil Survivor first.

Devil Survivor and DDS are honestly way more difficult imo.
Because once you get focus and at least divine shot you just vaporize anything in your way.

Unlike Persona where you only buff/debuff once Nocturne has 4 stages of buff/debuff so be aware of that.
