What is /v/'s opinion on GeForce Experience? Are the optimizations

Literally pointless unless you're a Shadowplay addict.

The "optimizations" are generally way off, and beyond that GFE does nothing besides remind you when new drivers are available, and even then it's practically faster to just download the exe from nvidia's website than to install using GFE.

Optimizations are a meme, if you can't decide by yourself if you want better visuals or better performance... why investing money on a good PC?

geforce experience is bloatware and spyware. the only decent feature is shadowplay but there are better video recording software out there like OBS or Dxtory.

I like the part where I have to create a fucking account just to get updates for my graphics card.

OBS can use the same encoder shadowplay uses (and can use AMD's H264).
There is little reason to keep using Nvidia's program when OBS has more features.

The optimizations are utter dogshit. Shadowplay I use to record sometimes but it's not very often at all.
