Depends on what you mean by "dead". The Switch has already baited a massive amount of sales with Zelda, so chances are that, despite the system's countless flaws, it won't die. Even if the Switch and the 3DS were to die, and Nintendo sold nothing at all, they would take a few years before "dying", which is to say, a failure so monument that they would never recover. That would be like if Disney "died"; it's not something that can happen over one event, it'd take years of complete failures.

Honestly, from one human being to another, you should just stop having hope in Ninetndo. They're not going to give you what you want, especially if what you want is Metroid or other series like that. It's not worth the pain.
