dunno, maybe. I never seen local scene in person cause I'm from middle of nowhere and I suppose it's hardly relevant for most cities out there, not to mention that gundam is more niche than any your fighting game and needs more people cause of 2 vs 2
sure, lack of those feature will deal a blow, but it's pretty minor and majority will be playing online only anyway, and online only wise it'll be more alive than FB now, cause I won't need to keep searching for particular group of people and getting my schedule to work with them to play with someone with decent ping

If they're going to release it in the west it means Bamco expects people to turn out to play, or else they'd just stick it to an English Asia release like with Breakers 3. And people will turn out to play if it's easy enough to do so. The reason there's no real local scene is because it's a nightmare to set up and to stream, something a simple LAN and spectating option would solve.

Also it's not just bad to setup and stream, you forget that watching gundam tournaments is not something really easy to follow unless you play them for yourself. So it's hardly matters either.

I honestly don't believe that tournament/esport scene can sell games anyway.
Again, I agree that lack of those features blows, but they do not seem important for me. Lack of PS4 native stream option is more damaging blow to potential sales I'd say.
