Remakes are a complete waste of resources. Developers should always be striving to make something new.
Metal Gear Solid should have ended a decade ago. 4 was a disaster and the series never recovered from it.

The only one really deserving a remake is MGS (PSX) but since it got a tasteless piece of trash remake Twin Snakes it's probably a good thing this won't happen with Kojima's magnum opus that is MGS2.

Do they have to redub it? Can't they just sync up the voice files they already have?

It wouldn't be that difficult, MGS1 and 2 only took place in a dozen or so rooms. MGS3 would probably take the longest to redo, since they'd spend forever making the forests and shit. Peacewalker would need some refinement into making every area continuous instead of breaking it all into little sections for the PSP.
