The real problem with Far Cry is, like every other Ubisoft property, it's become too bloated. The devs keep adding things to differentiate each game which means there's lots of shit to do but it's all half-assed and repetitive. Far Cry Primal's setting was cool but the gameplay felt like work, like I was doing things just to check off a list. They need to radically ravamp the series, sort of like Far Cry to Far Cry Instincts to Far Cry 2. All those games felt distinct, while from Far Cry 3 onwards it's the same formula with more and more bloat.
