They really should have had a few weeks of hyping up F2P multiplayer, with making the single player campaign as a $10 add-on, and sell the remaning individual heroes at $1-3 a pop, or buy it all for $30, then have additional cosmetic shit for $1-5 a pop.

Basically the format a ton of other games already have tested and proven works on the market and consumers understand.
This "free trial" sounds like its just a demo be it limited time, or just a free steam game weekend thing, or whatever.
