They improved the cover system drastically though. Now you don't have to lock yourself to cover anymore in a really easy-to-spot way. The gun-over-cover stability is much more flexible and intuitive.

Because there are too many times when you're crouched behind something and if you stand you're overexposed but if you crouch then you can't see over it. The only way to fix that is to have a cover system that adjusts your stance to the height of the object like in RO2 or have a manual stance adjustment system like in ARMA 3. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Firebase/Jungle Camp/Compound. It's basically late game Grain Elevator except way more dynamic and what you'd expect from an infantry heavy vietnam shooter.
Besides: It's Rising Storm 2. Not Red Orchestra 3. RS1 was pretty similar with its close combat focus.

Some of the death sounds are really fucking gruesome in this. Everyone keeps saying that Ro2's were better, but I think it's because they haven't experienced the good ones yet.

The sound design in red orchestra 2 was a masterpiece, sam hullick did a phenomenal job and really I doubt ANY game can top those.
As for gore death sounds, even RS1 placeholders from the beta were way better than the current US voices. They just aren intense enough. The marines choke and spit and the vietcong whimper but neither of them have the brutal screaming and crying or that kick to them. But those are just my two cents really

In the older games, you couldn't really shoot while jogging and expect to hit anything unless you were hip firing with a controllable semi/automatic weapon. I mean, try strafe-running across terrain and shooting a rifle in real life - you won't be able to hit the broad side of a barn.

the only things that i`m bothered with is the fact that there is no linear push type gameplay where you have to cap one objective before you can cap the next like the other game forming visible front lines and nice combat, not this stupid 5 caps sites like battle field.

and the other is that if my ping isn't at 60 i get movement lag. really? i can play squad with a ping of 300 and its still smooth as butter. FIX THAT SHIT.

Just spec some of the higher levels, I learned a lot from just seeing where some of them sit and copying them. That and try not to stick your head out at the very front of a window. It's how I get a lot of kills.

That being said not many people are willing to learn. All my decent spots aren't even used by anyone else.

id love it if they made some complex ass tunnel systems, made them darker, gave you tunnel fighting equipment (gas grenades, masks?, flashlights, etc.) to the point where you could spend a whole match in a tunnel destroying enemy ammo caches, collapsing reinforcement lines, destroying radios, etc. while the battle above rages on
