>>379588846
To be honest the combat was pretty much trash (either smashing one button or navigating boring menus), and the game being split into 4 was pretty Jewish. I got intrigued and played through the original 4 due to them coming with the associated side story anime episodes and the series in general spanning multiple mediums, which was really cool. If I'm not remembering wrong you had to unlock Japanese voices by completing the game first which kind of sucked, but if you had unlocked them in the first game you could keep the option on for subsequent games with save file transfer.
Never played the newer trilogy due to no Europoor release.

>>379589359
I only played it recently, like a month ago, and I was pretty shocked at how much fun I had grinding the dick out of these fucking games. I had played GU long ago, and it was okay, and logically you'd think that if I only thought GU was "okay" that'd mean I'd think less of the older ones, which I tried second...many years later. BUT NO.
The original games are so fucking FAST in comparison, no limit to the battle boundaries besides the borders of the room, but planning ahead and getting some properly tuned elemental gear beforehand and nuking mobs 20+levels above me was just glorious, after a while my ability to move through the menus was so damn fast that it barely registered that I was even opening them, since I knew exactly where what I wanted was. I dunno man, shit was fast and addictive as fuck, I had way more fun than the newer games, mostly due to the fact that I felt like I could just go full on super saiyan button presses and blast through the dungeons at mach-fucking-5, shit was glorious
And again, this was only a month or so ago, years AFTER I played the newer games. I don't know where the magic was, but it was there.
That jammin beat, the speed, the explosions, the death, the never ending flow of exp points, the constant rando-loot, the wacky story, that dramatic flare, it was all there. Fucking masterpiece IMO.

Part of why the series remains so obscure in the US in spite of how many titles it had is because only like 4 of the Dizzy games made it to the US back in the day, and all of them were unlicensed games with weird carts and limited distribution.

Although there were a few gems like Micro Machines (the Dizzy games are ok but frustrating), most of the unlicensed NES games were terrible, yeah. Pic related, the first unlicensed game I ever found and played as a kid. It's absolute shit but I have a soft spot for it because of how weird it was to kid me to discover an oddly shaped, blue NES cart.
The funny thing is that it's an unlicensed game that actually has a licensed theme. Western was a real exterminator company that paid Color Dreams to make a game for them featuring their weird mascot, the guy on the cover.Ok I'll stop the blogposting there.

Yeah, some things don't change. In this case, though, justified. Sacrifice was an interesting little game and different enough from the other RTS out there at the time to really feel like a breath of fresh air. Kinda similar to the supcom model in that you control your leader in over-the-shoulder 3rd person, and mix up summoning units and structures with jumping into the fray personally.
Suprisingly fun.

I remember if you collected enough of the data chips or whatever collectibles and unlocked the second last multiplayer level you could play as the final boss (the massive robot), controlling him like you could control many enemies in the actual campaign. Shinobido 2. It's a ninja game made by the Tenchu devs.
It got shit reviews because modern reviewers said it was an ugly game with dated controls and was unfairly hard. The reality is it's a shiny PS2 level game for the Vita that rewards replaying the game, good parry timing, inventive approaches to missions and an appreciation for attention to detail. So much of the gameplay is missable if you just run around mashing square.
Downloaded this game for free. I contacted the developer to buy a license and everything. He said "don't worry about it".
>>379606954
Yes and no. It's a mech srpg with programming game elements where you control one mech by programming in what actions you want it to take at the start of the round, which it then carries out. There's actually a greater emphasis on trying to anticipate enemy actions that actually makes it more tactical than many srpgs. It sounds a bit clunky but it's actually easy to learn and ends up pretty intuitive. Different enemies will display different behavioral patterns you can pick up on. For example if an enemy is clearly a hotheaded macho man, he's probably going to focus on an aggressive offense.
It also has a decent plot and cast. It's generally considered to be a solid srpg and one of the best NGPC games among people who have played it.

It was even from LucasArts, I'm surprised I've never heard from that game ever before and I thought I would knew every LucasArts game.
>>379595274
still not played this. have to check it out someday.
That bridge command VR game has gotten me thinking about this and how it'll never be topped, despite it being completely broken and buggy as all hell.
>>379585828
I played Red Ninja on Xbox. It's okay.
>>379609408
No, unfortunately I played that too.
>>379585828
mana fags are still mad
>>379607663
Oh shit, from the makers of Mr Mosquito?
I might have to check that out.

Road Rash was a medium popular arcade game before it went to consoles. I think a lot of people probably played it at some point.
>>379617083
Road Rash was on PC, never in arcades.

Plenty of people played Second Sight. It's usually considered a cult hit, because it got initially ignored, but it has a decent sized fanbase.
>>379595274
This was a sad one. Game is pretty good, but came out a month after the PS3 did iirc so Sony wasn't promoting PS2 releases that weren't God of War 2
>>379617560
Is this dreamworks?

Citizen Kabuto was a really unusual one. It was nominally an RTS, where you play through three separate campaigns as three separate factions. Basic in that regard, but the factions were COMPLETELY different from eachother. I mean, completely, like nothing in common. The first faction is jetpack humans, who follow the typical build base, build dudes, rush model. Then you get these magic zora looking guys who are sorta similar, except your army is just three super elite dudes. And then with the last faction, you literally just play the giant monster on the cover and smash shit.
>>379617560
This was my shit back in the day
>>379589097
I tried very hard to enjoy this, just couldn't
>>379590652
This game's intro was god tier

>>379611571
WOAH. I remember that game.
One of the only games that had you playing as your character's lineage spanning through multiple characters.
The types of magic that you had was also cool as fuck.
>Lvl1 Fire is a hadouken and small in size but steadily grows bigger the higher its level goes. >By end game the fire spell is as big as half the screen
>>379585828
I don't know how many people played this. But as a kid, the stop motion graphics is what pulled me in.
>>379585828
I boguht this game with my dick and regretted it
Are there any good games where I can lure men to their deaths with my body?
>>379619167
One of the first games I owned. The soundtrack for the title screen spooked the shit out of me as a kid.
>>379611571
I remember this, Clovis' side of the story sure felt long, then you think it's over you play as his son, didn't make it much further than that
>>379616282
Got into this shit too late, seemed pretty interesting, I liked the dude with the devil arm, looked like depending on the type of gauntlet you give him he would do boxing punches or claw slashes, I liked that and it only made me even more curious about the other characters, specially the swordsman and the gunner

This is the game with bosses that litterally won't target you and will swing at empty air the whole time and you can just hold square to kill them. infuckingcluding the final boss.

I had this fucker on Xbox, I think it was okay
funnily enough, my friend had the first one
>>379619167
Played this when I was like 6. Was scary as fuck to me back then but really cool game.
>>379598892
I fucking love this game, I wish there was a but more to it though
>>379609687
God that game sucked
It was okay, cool concept that ended up being done better in other games.

For some reason FUCKING DRAGON VALOR gets me really hyped, I remember playing it rented on PS1
>>379588846
Got the main hub town tune in my head. Those games are some of the comfiest ever.
I know it's a sequel so 'someone' else must have played it, but I sure as fuck haven't managed to find any of them.
>>379585828
Do i win?
>>379588771
I had that and a few other JoWood games that a relative got me for my birthday. They were all fairly shit.
Remember the good old days when games could just be silly fun and didn't need permission from the massive AAA evil corporate death-councils to exist?
>>379590325
That one is my favorite, actually
>>379590325
Played through a fair bit of the psp version. My psp is fairly wrecked now so cant finish it yet.
The best needs to be on Steam
>>379585828
>saw clips of that game way back on tv
>me and my younger brother were addicted to Tenchu so we hyped
>never found it on the stores around so forgot about it

URBAN CHAOS WAS THE SHIT!
Was it the gta 3 engine before gta 3 was released?
I remember the games playing almost identical.
Really cool shit.
>>379585828
I actually remember kinda wanting this back when it came out but I was too poor and piracy hadn't been invented yet. Did I miss anything?
>>379621235
No.
The controls are awkward as fuck, and other than the waifu aspect there's nothing special about it.
Just look up porn of her if you need something to jack off to.
The VS mode for this was the first ASSFAGGOTS.
>>379620674
Christ, I had this for a while. I got a PS2 really really late because I never had one as a kid, so I went on a spree of stuff I played as a kid at a friend's house and stuff I never got to touch. This was one of them, and I love the whole Stand thing you have but good lord is it repetitive. I liked spamming the sword guys. Can't remember anything else but getting stuck at some dusty canyon area and it sucked.
>>379607159
First one was better still, especially that they didn't give a fuck about level design in this one at all
>>379620674
No, this gets posted a lot in these threads and gets a handful of replies each time. I played it a bit at a friend's place when I was younger. Pretty solid DmC clone.
>>379620795
Apart from being a tie-in to a successful cartoon. Also this had one of the worst cases of early 3d, still I loved cartoon enough to play it.
>>379621502
Had it on PC. Wish they made more along with the Strike series. Only reason I did the HotS shit for the DVa skin in OW was because it brought back memories of that game.
Rockstar had a skate game in the 90's
think about a new skate game with R.A.G.E engine and Rockstar large scale maps.
>>379621558
Speaking of hack'n'slash.
My number 1 worst game I've played. Managed to be shit enough to beat Uncharted 3 and Bioshock: Infinite.
>>379621595
Game was kinda shit, yeah.
Show was awesome, however.
>>379585828
At least in leafland.
>>379621502
played the demo. thought it was fun.
>>379620181
Woah there, fuck you buddy, that game was great: awesome art design, good level layout, intriguing story, and unlike RE4 it was obviously following it actually controlled good.
>>379621721
Looks like Prince of Persia and Kratos had some sort of autistic gay love child.
>>379621785
What is it about?
I'm searching a gameplay video, but I want to hear it from you too
>>379622058
Kind of a blend between fantasy and cyberpunk, you know like Hellgate: London. Gameplay-wise it reminded me mostly of Dungeon siege, without fun. It was clunky, had terrible graphics, and I mean really fuckign atrocious, boring as hell gameplay, blocky map design, bugs up the ass of course. I really can go on, but this game was so many shades of shit it didn't even managed to be funny shit like Ride to Hell or Spider-man 2 for PC, it was just bland boring and broken.
>>379588918
Everyone's played this game. They just dont admit it cause who would wabt to admit they're scum?
>>379619135
This game was never complete and was originally going to a ps1 game towards its end life cycle. It suffered from development hell and was canned. Some person recovered the game's source code, removed whatever game mechanics that didn't work And released the game. The ending was absolutely trash for a reason.

Dear god I remember playing so much of this and Alter Echo one summer.
This game was categorically ass. A friend gifted it to me on my birthday and we spent evening playing it and making fun of it. Though apparently it's a big franchise in Spain.

The game over screen is the only thing I remember from it
Pretty trivial snowmobile racer, very few maps, very few snowmobiles, and very short straightforward campaign, but damn it was comfy.

I remember seeing a review for Red Ninja in a PS2 magazine. They gave it 2/10. Is it really that shit?
Utter trash, but I liked the designs. Also it was my first consumer fuck-up. Father offered to buy me one game so I was choosing what to buy between it and Martian Gothic, which while not being that great still had some interesting innovative gameplay.
>>379604506
i played this, fun game
>>379624919
Definitely not a 2/10. More like 4/10 or 5/10.
>>379624487
I remember seeing a lot of ads for this in game magazines.
>>379591316
I played the shit out of this game online. The spawns were absolutely horrid
