He's regarded as one of the more challenging bosses, but I personally didn't think he was that bad. You struggle against the camera more than the boss itself in the first phase. It took me a couple tries to beat the first phase, I beat the second phase the first time I got to it.

Same there, you almost rely on luck on the first phase to avoid the dragon breath, since the camera don't let you see above yourself. The bosse movement on the second phase are more impressive than effective and it's attack's hitbox surprisingly small.

The last really challenging boss I've fought in the Soulsborne series was the fire doggo in the chalice dungeons of Bloodborne, though, with the bullshit 1-hit KOs in cursed dungeons. Ebrietas was also a fucking douche.

One of the harder boss for rollfags while a cake for shield and magic users.

This shit makes me really hate the heavy input buffer of ds3 as the boss have many "roll trap" combo when it has a pause in combo that if you roll as soon out of hit stun, you will get hit by the next attack. What ends up happening for me is I keep input a roll too late to get hit by first attack, then the input buffer carry my roll into after the attack finish, making me roll as soon out of hit stun and get hit and killed.

I'm always so confused with the souls fanbase. I can beat this dude with minimal estus and everyone says its the hardest, then I get my ass completely blown out by bosses the fanbase say is easy as fuck.

in BB I got Ludwig on my second try and loved it, then Maria gave me hell. In DS3 I couldnt deal with Ariendel and Friede

Dark Souls games are difficult and some bosses, such as the Nameless King, are hard, but honestly he's a 2-8 tries boss on your first go.

It's not even about him being hard, it's just first phase which is very easy but rather long, and only after it real fight begins, and you must replay it each try. They implemented a lot of this shit to prolong game time a lot without putting more actual content in the game.

First phase is weak to lightning, second phase resists it

He's pretty tough due to a number of things. He's a long endurance fight against two phases, the second of which has a ton of HP. His attacks are really strong, and most are lightning-elemental, which few armors and fewer shields resist. And his attacks have a longer wind-up than you'd think, so if you dodge early you'll just end up eating shit.

That said, he's fairly slow and generally only sticks to two-hit combos, so once you figure out his move set you'll have lots of breathing room to work with. It just takes a while to get down, and if you die you have to fight the dragon all over again, which can still end up taking a few chunks out of you if you get too complacent.

This, i'd been using creightons axe, the physical/lightning - i rekt the bird in phase 1, but just did dick all dmg in phase 2. Tried it a few times regardless - but i was only doing like 150 per hit. Went away, got a different weapon (morion blade) and rekt him first time (admittedly after having learned his attacks a bit on the few tried prior).
