I can't really understand people who watch people talking over E3 when it's live. Why would you want to spoil your experience like that?

During lulls I'll be browsing /v/, for example when EA bring their clueless celebrity on stage to ramble on about football. Otherwise I'll be watching the show fullscreen with no distractions.

We might have switched topics here, but the context I was referring to was watching Giant Bomb's stream. I don't care if they don't scream their hearts out when a game I like is shown. I don't even care if they "shit" on it. They're just having a good time riffing on E3, which is the exact same thing I'm doing on /v/ at the same time. I'll be shitposting on /v/ being hyped about it all the same.
However, I do mind when people start spazzing out like they just found the fountain of youth. It comes across as phony pandering to me. Even if it's not phony, it's obnoxious.

Why not? There are plenty of moments in E3 when it's a boring announcer boring the audience or sales projections being shown up (thankfully, that habit has died down nowadays), it's times like those that I'm thankful I'm shitposting on /v/ and listening to people riff on it rather than actually be there.
