Watch high level matches of the character of your choice. Will immensely help with giving you ideas.
Also movement/spacing are really important in this, more than combo execution. Both will improve if you invest time in it. Nature of fighters anon, gotta spend some time on them.

Try to bait it. Dash up to them and block. Keep the opponents health in mind, if they have too little to absorb your hit and counter with rage art you've basically won.
