Even at that distance, the quality difference between a 4K and 1080p image would be quite phenomenal. Are you talking about real rendered 4K images, like playing a PC game at 4K on your TV, or simply viewing upscaled material?

any video card is a crapshoot. get whatever has best warranty turnaround service and just hope they don't skimp on thermal solutions for at least the vrms and other critical components. do lots of research and find tear downs of whatever cards you're interested in so you know what you're getting into.

Founders edition or bust. My 1080 FE is a beauty under load and dead quiet. All you lose is a bit of over clocking ability for excellent build quality and one of the quietest/coolest air cooled solutions. (Does not apply to partner FE cards, I mean the nvidia made one only.)
