Fast-passes exist now, in fact Universal Studios has a $100 all-day pass that lets you skip big lines in almost everything and makes them 10 minute waits at most. Disney has fast-passes (more like reservations for rides at certain times) and if you get in early in the morning you can ride a lot of shit with very limited lines. My memory is a bit rusty and I'm not the best at explaining things, so bear with me. Basically when you used up all of your 3 fast passes you were allowed to get another pass anytime you wanted. The problem is all the good rides would have really shitty times that were hours away, and you could only have one fast pass a time.

So you basically selected whatever shit time they gave you, and then you were able to edit the time. For some weird reason, the system ALWAYS gave you options that were either 10 minutes before the current time you had or 10 minutes after.
