This seems to be going nowhere. I should say something controversial to stir up interest.
Other M was not irredeemable garbage, it was merely mediocre and boring. it was just too linear and had bad/story writing (and controls, ill be fair).
Federation Force is legitimately better than Hunters.
There are decent odds that's we'll see a new Metroid game at E3 but if we don't see one this year we won't ever have a new game again for at least 5 more years.

the wii was an upgraded gamecube and if you think about it the engine was rock solid anyway, you could probably play corruption just fine on a gamecube if that was a thing.
