Is it just me or does this game feel way more casual and just worse in general?

I miss Bridges of Druzina, the Campaign mode MP (or whatever it was called in RO2, where you captured/defended maps one after another) and could use a few more maps.

Other than that it's pretty good, some weapons need a bit rebalancing, some need their recoils increased others decreased, etc. It's a solid 8/10 game imo.

Dropping off squads behind enemy lines to cap points. A successful sneak cap on Alpha is a thing of beauty.

The relatively small maps and limited number of LZs can make Hueys a death trap if the enemy team is smart though.

What I meant is that in the middle of the maps, especially ones that contain jungle, instead of it being open terrain with trees and rocks for cover, with bushes to hide in, they make artificial walls out of bushes. Like that one map with jungle on the sides and rice fields on the middle. One side of the ricefields is almost completely covered by artificial foliage walls with small passages inbetween

Eh, while RO2 and RS certainly felt clunky-wonky at times, especially when getting into it for the first time, RS2 just feels like a cheap plastic cartoon.

At least you got one thing right in your post. That shit is annoying. Prone seems to fit into that as well. You get stuck on everything imaginable and at certain points it bugs out and your character will stand straight up with no input from you.

I sort of find myself agreeing with a lot of the naysayers, despite being pleasantly surprised in the beta.

I wish Rising storm 2 was better than it was, it runs like RO2/RS2 should've, without nearly the amount of bullshit texture and graphics issues that RO2/RS1 had.

What was really missing from RS2 was terrain destruction, (other games with a similar audience are also is guilty of this) which just makes the game feel dated.

Isn't there just one (hue) with the exception of the beginning of cu chi? I love cu chi and hue and I want more buildings in general. I loved peaking out of windows and looking for enemies. I remember a valid tactic from RO2 was to stand a few meters back from the windows so people wouldn't see you as easily. I've yet to even find a proper window in RS2 where I could do something like that. This game desperately needs more maps. It's still a ton of fun, but in general I thought RO2/RS1 was a better experience. This might grow into something similar though.

Game has a bunch of problems. RO2 is a much better game. One major example is the map design, and I'm talking about Territories only here because I don't play the stupid Battlefield conquest gamemode. In RO2 the maps were designed so that there were long stretches of no man's land between objectives while the objectives themselves were CQB chokepoints. In RS2 the maps are nothing but chokepoints. The dynamic between machine gunners covering riflemen covering sub-machine gunners that was so good in RO2 is gone in RS2. The maps are too small for MGs to provide effective fire support for riflemen like in RO2, and the question of if you want a rifle or an SMG is a matter of preference.

Then you have other things like the retarded new squad system where you have a bunch of squad leaders who don't even get smokes by default, and the gook squad leaders being nowhere near as important as US squad leaders because once they place a spawn beacon they don't have to stay alive anymore. Meaning the US team is constantly down 6 or so players because they have to stay alive at all costs while the gook SLs don't.

I could write an essay on all the things wrong with RS2 compared to RO2 but I'm not going to. The map design and spawn system are the biggest problems I see with the game, aside from the nonexistent hit detection and severe lack of maps.

I just want more territories mode map that play like Station and Barracks, or even Apartments. I don't like supremacy so there's only really Cu Chi and Hue for me. Cu Chi is great though, reminds me a bit of Winterwald or Spartanovka.

I feel like the muzzle velocity on the AKs is absolutely fucked. I was dicking around at the end of a match yesterday and between firing a single shot at the cabinet not 3 metres in front of me and the impact nearly a full second passed.

Happens with all guns and in RO2 as well, bullets seem to be server side in the engine and the higher your ping the the longer it takes to register the impact. It's worsened by packet loss. Trying to lead targets with 200 ping is a nightmare, the physics are completely different.

Let's not forget the hit detection in RS2 is completely fucked especially on the AKs. The AKs by far have the worst hitreg in the game. Actually I'm not sure if it's hitreg or the damage is too low but something about the AKs in RS2 is completely broken. I stopped playing the Vietnamese grunts entirely because of this, your only other options are the SKS which has similarly fucked damage/hitreg and the Mosin which seems to have okay hitreg but terrible damage, often taking 2 shots to kill someone.

Yes because people can spawn into a transport helicoper. However they cant jump out the chopper if you going to fast or to high. Don't land to close to enemies. A single shooter can fuck up your roters and you will crash down like a noob. other then that be carefull of SAM and rpgs. A good pilot can help your team a lot

I always disliked bridges. It felt bland for some reason. Everywhere you looked was a dull grey/whitish green color, it felt like there was no visual variety.

There was one map I really loved but I don't remember the name because barely any servers had it in its rotation. It started out in a swampy area, pushed into a lumberyard followed by a bridge and the last cap was a burned out village. It was a very beautiful map with lots of detail, I loved how varied the objectives were but fuck me I only got to play it maybe twice.

RS2 tunnels are literally just small hallways with 1 or 2 branches like 5 feet below the ground. I get that it would be hard as fuck to implement in an already dated engine but god damn can you imagine a fully functioning tunnel system like this pic?
