But the second Falco fucks up, the stock is gone.

He falls too fast to get out of combos once they start and he gets gimped by fucking everything Marth can do.
It makes him incredibly vulnerable to ledge camping once he's behind.

A lot of falco marth games are defined by whoever gets the first hit. Marths grabs are oppressive but falco can really push marth into a corner or force him to play unsafe to get to you.

Something I've realized about Melee is that almost all the characters have the potential to be or not be lame since all of them can play varying roles pretty well (aside arguably Jiggs). Fox is merely the most flexible. As such, you should feel free to pick whoever. It really doesn't matter. Hell, I also hate sheik generally, but then I look at KirbyKaze's sheik and it's fucking sick

Jab -> upsmash is a true combo at certain percents and fox can jab jab grab or jab bair. Etc. This is all assuming the opponent can't cc jab or baits out a job or etc.

Melee is a game of context. Scrubby options can be good in certain siuations.

Fox's laser is stupid dumb too. If you space it correctly it forces your opponent to approach and can bait out approaches.
Not to mention that it installed your moves. Yes random lasering is shit but even good options can be bad if thrown out mindlessly.
