Combat as 9S is completely aids so if you wanted to do side stuff you should have done it as 2B.

Honestly though the side stuff is mostly fluff and barely a handful of the quests are worth doing for the dialogue or interesting situations.
I did them for the completetionists sake and XP and upgrade materials, but really they aren't worth your time if you are high enough level to advance the main story.

9S clears the main game much faster than 2B.

Run with a Spear and everything is a joke.
9S run adds a lot of context and other segments which 2B does not do.

Main story (focused) only takes 5-6 hours.

Say what you will, but the second ending is a joke. It's not that it's hard, it's repetitive and mind-numbingly boring with the exception of a few slightly different cutscenes and dialogue. It completely ruins the flow of the game forcing you to see the same stuff you've already seen in the first 10-15 hours of the game. I don't care if it's only 4-5 hours with just the main quests. Even an hour would be too much.
They should have used cutscenes or text to show us 9s's perspective. Fuck it, the entire story is trash when I think about it. It's childish fedora-tipping garbage made worse by having to experience the same section twice. It's like losing a 10 hour save file.

Because whenever you answer "No" after failing the Ending E credits minigame you aren't doing it mainly to finish the minigame but rather the player is doing it because they refuse to accept the ending given to them, the ending that Yorha/the machines have planned from the beginning. Nier Automata is about cycles, and MUH HUMANITY.
