I could literally buy another Steam Controller with the price gap between the SC and Switch pro.

Even if you're personally an autist who hates change and recoils at the sight of superior trackpads, this thing has gyro (that I can add to any game, I'm playing the Bit.Trip Saga on PC as they would have played on the Wii, but stable right now) and HD rumble, those are the two things that the Switch pro has over the WiiU pro, and the Steam Controller is a normal controller price. It objectively shows how bad the Switch pro is for your money.
It's price gouging. Full stop. That controller will never be worth the money.

On top of it all you're buying a 70 dollar Nintendo controller that doesn't even have a Nintendo dpad, like 90% of the reason to own Nintendo controllers.

I had a 360 controller before this. It's bulky. And the triggers take a year to press down because the cod bros gotta feel like they're shooting the real guns on xbox.
Dpad is trash. I'm honestly better off binding left and right to the right trackpad's button press in a 2d platformer and binding up and down to different buttons over using the dpad from the xbox 360 for platformers.
The sticks are slippery as fuck too. All in all its just a passable controller that everyone uses because of its widespread PC compatibility.

The fact that you think the Steam controller is bad and use a 360 controller, not even a fucking One controller, as your example of a good controller, is seriously the most laughable thing I have heard today.

No dpad is the biggest fault. You can make it work but overall I just keep a controller with a good dpad handy on the offchance I'm playing a game in 2017 that requires it. Which isn't super often since the average 2d platfomer made today works more than reasonably with the analog stick. I don't really use the SC for emulators.
One stick is necessary and good (Though I would have preferred a grippy as fuck circle pad in its stead, the flopping motion of sticks is the worst fucking thing ever) sticks and circle pads are great for movement. They're horrible for aiming and camera controls. That's where the trackpad comes in. 3D movement on the trackpad sounds incredibly unpleasant.
Buttons on the bottom is purely opinion. And no fucking way would the trackpad work on the bottom.
