Reviewers don't play games for enjoyment, they play games because they get paid to play games. So being forced to learn anything is bad, they want something story-heavy with as much handholding as possible they can mindlessly walk through to the end so they can slap a 10 on it and call it a day.

As someone who lacks the generally dexterity to accurately and consistently pull combos in average fighting games, this is a big draw for me. It's refreshing to play a game where thinking on your feet, playing mind games, and using planned and percise strikes depending on the situation is at the core of the gameplay instead of typical combo string memorization and execution.

Sure it's not as deep, but for someone who only casually plays fighting games with other plays ranging from complete scrubs to tournament players, it's a nice change of pace.

I think nintendo way is the proper way to manage this kind of games, if you blow your load in 1 go, the game will die withing a few weeks; months, but if you keep an stream of content. the life of the game gets exponentially increased

I think for online-multiplayer focused titles like this and splatoon it works well, but for single player titles I totally agree, don't release it until the experience is completely finished and polished.
