I deny playing vidya, and if anyone finds out I play vidya, I am completely open about my tastes and viciously insult any game I have no interest in, to prevent any unwanted discussion or invitations.

Neither video games or anime are a social stigma among your contemporaries these days. The real problem here is the wide spread shit taste. There is no escaping it in any age in any media.
If you mention you play video games people will try to get you play shit like LoL or PUBG with them. And they'll tell you to watch the currently airing mainstream series like BnHA and AoT.
