Being a horror fan is suffering. So many crappy indie developers flood the market with horror games being the first game they develop. pic not related

What does /v/ think about the dead space series? Personally i fucking loved it, i must have played every game about 10 times each, even the third one, dismembering rotting corpses with the plasma cutter is just too fun, i legitimately haven't bothered to use any weapon but that one.

can anybody suggest games that really dial up the sense of doom and dread atmospherically without resorting to jump scares and QTE hide and seek (like Outlast)?

Fallout tactics, not really "spooky" but that eerie music in old fallout, in my case im in rock falls mission, 3rd mission, and that background music of some rusty fence swinging in wind or something and atmosphere is deserted/very madmax-ey
