Okay, so you weren't describing your experience when you said a "new guy comes to play" at a major, since you're apparently practiced at your game. You're a case of big fish in a small pond. Besides that, I've never seen any blatantly new player get disrespected horribly at a major, the experienced guys just beat them and move on.

And yes, you're expected to shake a guy's hand even if you get double perfected in both games. You're at an event with dozens if not over a hundred people and there's money on the line. The least you could do is act professional, and if you're too much of a baby back bitch to shake a guy's hand when you lose, you should stay home.
