I mean I guess it has OK games and Zelda is amazing. My biggest gripe is that everything seems to be multiplayer focused, like the only single player game other than Zelda coming out for it is Mario and that's at the end of the year.

I was really hoping I would feel this way, but I didn't. I didn't even really have much expectation going into it, I'd been unimpressed with the series since somewhere around the beginning of the millennium.

I wonder if Nintendo would ever dare let somebody else release a Fantasy Action-Adventure/ARPG on their console, or if anybody would even develop one for it.

Expecting nothing isn't the same as expecting something shitty. Hearing there's a sequel and not just an upgrade (like Yellow or Crystal) to a pokemon game, but it's not coming to nintendo's newest handheld is pretty shitty.
