THe PS4 will always be better than the Switch, but people are worried that the Switch will mainly just be ports, which its shaping up to be since Nintendo can't develop games fast enough to support it properly. What happens when there's nothing to port?

I think something a lot of people are forgetting about is the 3DS version. Remember, the core idea of Smash 4 from the beginning was to have a console Smash, and a handheld Smash simultaneously at once, both versions sharing the same core gameplay and roster. Of course, Nintendo can no longer sell us the console version of Smash due to the fact that the console its on (Wii U) is completely dead. Meanwhile the 3DS is still alive and kicking, and Smash 3DS is still prominently being advertised several years after its release (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2t3-C6JeP4).

At the moment, Nintendo is treating the Switch as its home console while keeping the 3DS alive. In that sense, I could Smash for Switch being a simple and quick stand-in for the console Smash game. But unfortunately, this would most likely rule out version exclusive characters, considering how hellbent Sakurai was keeping the roster exactly the same between both versions, going as far to cut the Ice Climbers when they couldn't work on 3DS. Granted, one work around for this is just to release any additional Switch characters as DLC for 3DS owners, but uh, in the case, RIP Ice Climbers.

Sure Sony ported a ton of PS3 games, but at least there are some new games. What kind of manchild wants to own a console just for ARMS and Splatoon? Zelda was pretty good, but the difference between the Wii U version wasn't worth the price tag of the Switch.
