first of all, 4chan boards are hardly a qualifier for greatness.
second of all, i wouldn't even call pokemon a vidya franchise. The games may have started it, but it has become so much fucking bigger than that. I'm sure they make a lot more money from merchandise than the games. A lot of people don't even know the games to be the main "thing", they think it's just another addendum to this massive franchise.
