zombies has become its own thing with a storyline and everything. Each map released since black ops 1 has had an easter egg (mini raid) that requires a lot of setup and teamwork to beat. I've had alot of fun with my friends playing through them all, but thats just the shit treyarch released. People have been playing world at war for little under a decade now solely because of the custom maps. Hell, they're still being made for it despite black ops 3 mod tools.

world at war can be had for 5$ on g2a or whatnot, try it out. Decade worth of maps to play.

If you like EDF than serious sam might be good for you. It replaces vehicles and very light RPG elements with 16 player coop and a larger variety of enemies to fight. There's also sven-coop for fucking around with other people and shadow warrior 2 if you like guns and swords.

Also never tried SS. Shadow Warrior 2 was a game I had looked it because the cyberpunk city levels are amazing looking to me. And sven co op would be fun if I could get my friends interested in an "old" game

Unlike L4D where you'll have people switching weapons on the fly for different purposes (crowd control, picking off specials, close range sweeping), in vermindtide everyone groups up on the direction rats come from and swing wildly.
Practically just imagine four people playing with melee weapons in L4D, does that sound satisfying?

Keep in mind shadow warrior 2 turns into borderlands in a sense when enemies start having >physical resist, chemical resist, weak to fire.

Give Factorio a whirl. My friend and I play it once in a blue moon when our schedules align and its great fun. If you can handle not looking things up it has a great sense of discovery figuring out how to efficiently build with the new tools you get.

I fucking hate when games do this, ALL games.

Higher difficulty should NOT mean enemies take more damage, it should ONLY mean YOU take more damage, I don't want to sit around shooting at something for 5 minutes.

Check out Monaco, it's a simple little heist game with different class of characters. Had a lot of fun playing it with friends.

That's what I'm planning on doing. I played the trial version of D3 and it felt really slow to start.
