if legit and not wannacry.exe 2, this is big. Sadly there is only like three uncracked non-online Denuvo games I want to play (TW:WH, Dead Rising 4 out of pure curiosity and Fernbus Simulator because...i like bus simulators).

Basically miners use resources from your PC (mostly GPU) to earn bitcoins. While melting your GPU through overtaxation (game plus this miner), someone else gets the a few nickels worth of bitcoin you generated before crashing out of your game. Further more, some nasty miners can actually root in deep and kick your GPU on at various times to insidiously steal from you all the while raising your electricity bill and burning out your card.
>>
>>379240165

Because Denuvocucks kept bragging about how it's NEVER EVER getting cracked.

They keep doing it with each new version and they keep getting BTFO.
>>
>>379240459
Yeah, you can play the game offline too.
In all honesty it's a scene release like any other, they just went an extra mile to encrypt and protect their keygen. I'm pretty positive it's not a miner or some shit.
>>

Well it's the first of its kind, of course they want to keep how they did it a secret. Both because of e-penis factor and to make it more of a pain to develop countermeasures I guess?
Although from what I understand this method won't work on newer "V4" protected games so that last point might be moot.

Just depends on what you were pirating and what film your sister was watching. If she's watch some big budget flick that is currently in theaters; you can almost set a timer for the incoming wrist slap---barring VPN use naturally. If you were torrenting half a decade old games and fan sub anime, no one is going to come after you. The IP owners need to press for strikes. Your ISP really wouldn't care until the deep pockets of Hollywood come calling.

>>
>>379242731
I honestly believe it's worth paying 2$ a month just so that your ISP wouldn't know shit about what you're doing. Even if you're not pirating, it's just good privacy practice.
Of course, you can always just use TOR, except for torrenting. But that shit's slow.

That's the thing anon, she was streaming it through showbox (the app). The movie was called lights out I think. Some piece of shit low budget movie from a few years ago.
I always download bluray copies to watch. If it's a good film, I get a 30+ GB file. Anything else, I'll get around 10GBs. Just can't watch bootlegs after being exposed to bluray quality.

>>
>>379245667
People with shitty intrawebs I guess. Personally I never bother with repacks unless it's the only option available.
If you need ratio, just grab and seed whatever's popular bro.
>>
>>379246125
The thing is you need really bad internet to justify the unpack time and that just isnt in line with by how wide a margin the repacks are preferred. I havent gotten day one vidya in quite some time and that first prey release fuck well should have gotten a positive ratio. I'm still mildly annoyed that bitgamer died as my gazelle ratio has never gotten anywhere near the surplus I had.
>>
>>379246536
I actually got 6+ TB of upload from Prey.SteamRip-Fisher (not a repack, just a bunch of loose files) on a russian tracker. The trick is to start uploading the moment it's cracked, because the hype loses its momentum fast.
It also helps to have sanic uploadan speeds.
>>
>>379245667
I will use her repacks when I am heading into an older game. She usually re-repacks them with new updates. CODEX and co usually wait for DLC to bundle up an updated game. And downloading separate updating torrents has always been a pain in the ass and tends to corrupt games.

>I'm still salty that denuvo ruined my hitman experience.

See, this is what I dont understand, why people hate denuvo? Only if you are a piratefag would you hate this thing.

I purchased dishonored 2 months ago because I always liked the setting and the powers, I played from start to finish without denuvo ever giving me any problem.

I have no shame in pirating sometimes, last week I pirated stellaris, and after playing and genuinely having fun, I went and brought the game on steam simply because I think the devs deserve my money.

Honestly I believe people who "hate" denuvo are the same guys who will never buy a game unless is black friday sale and the game costs only 2 U$S, do you guys hate paying for games that much that you cannot give the developers even what, two weeks or one month of legit sales?

I pirated so many games, ebooks and music, but I never denied that what I was doing is wrong, I never tried to put on airs and act as if denuvo is genuinely ruining games, if you want to pirate games just say so, dont act like a hypocrite and get mad at the devs for trying to defend their property.

This goes both ways, devs will never stop using drm because people will never stop pirating even good games.

Lords of the fallen was uncrackeable for almost a year, and I had wait to wait all that time, but I never got angry.

And yet there was a lot of people here angry as fuck that they could not pirate the game from day one, almost as if the devs had some kind of obligation to give the game for free.

Literally the end of Denuvo!

>Several users, including me have tried to debug the generator but as said, its HEAVILY protected by VMProtect. What we know so far (related to it being malware free), is: It doesnt create any startup windows' process, so any troyan or keylogger is started on windows start It does not send http request of any kind It does not create any other kind of process if the stp-dh2.exe is executed alone It DOES search the Windows Registry to look for Steam folder in order to emulate appid/license check. It creates a 100% accurate denuvo id for the entirety of your hardware. The only thing remaining is that said malware is executed only when stp-dh2.exe is, but again, this can't be code tested as the .exe itself is protected. Things you can do for now to protect is enable all kind of antimalware/virus and block all .exes in the Windows Firewall. The "only works with this steam emu" issue is NOT a problem for security UNLESS the emu is also infected with any malware. This is due that they use their emu to inject the dbdata into the game files. CPY's Crack does the exact same thing, their keygen is much less complex but the concept is basically the same. So far there are NOT any real possible threats to your computer BESIDES the crypto functions, and so far no one has reported any issue with the crack so i THINK we are good, at least NOW.

The problem is that witcher was famous by the time witcher 2 came, big name games dont feel the sting of piracy, they can deal, in most cases its small times devs who genuinely work hard with unique ideas that get fucked by piracy.

I dont even have a problem with piracy anyway, because I am a piratefag myself, its the attitude some people have, as if pirating games is one noble fight against evil developers.

Want to pirate, sure, just dont be an annoying bitch about it.

I think that /v/ often forgets the purpose of Denuvo.

Now before I even get started let me preface this by saying that I pirate basically everything, and fucking hate Denuvo just like everyone else.

But the reason Denuvo exists, and keeps getting utilized, isn't because it stops piracy. Its because it DELAYS piracy.

The VAST majority of video game sales made today are made within the first few months of a games launch; Denuvo usually guarantees that it takes at least a few months to crack the protection on a game, driving up legitimate sales because of the lack of free copies. That's its purpose.

Denuvo and the companies that buy it know perfectly well that their shit will be cracked in a few months. But by then, they will have already pocketed the vast majority of income they will make off the game for its lifetime, laughing their way to the bank.

In terms of profitability, Denuvo is a roaring success. At least until some bright person figures out the exact method by which Denuvo functions rather than making bypasses for it, in which case they will be able to anticipate and break the encryption within days or even hours.

When pirates can break Denuvo protection within a week of its launch, then I will consider Denuvo to be dead. The moment that happens, you'll stop seeing it in games too.

RE 7, Prey and Rime were all "cracked" in the first week or so of release.

Otherwise spot on. Everything eventually gets cracked and pirated. No DRM company believes they are the cure all.

I do see a publisher back lash of Denuvo coming though. Dirt 4 launches today without protection as did bigger titles like Mafia 3, No Man's Sky, NBA/WWE 2K_, Civ 6, Outlast 2 and all the Call of Duties. I can see publishers not opting for the expensive Denuvo option if more and more release week cracks happen.

But that's nothing but a good thing.

Do not mistake me for arguing in favor of Denuvo.

All I am doing is pointing out that the purpose of Denuvo is to delay piracy.

If these recent games were cracked within a few days, then I foresee two possible outcomes:

A. Denuvo updates to a new version which will put us back to square one in terms of cracking games, and the status quo continues.

B. Video game developers and publishers lose faith in Denuvo's ability to delay pirates, and stops using it, at which point Denuvo goes under and a new 'copywrite' (its not even really copywrite) protection appears in its place and the cycle begins all over again.

RIME already has the updated denuvo version, and it got removed. So much to having faith in something.
A delay for pirates doesn't mean anything. If someone set his mind to pirate he will do it either way.
This period of delay and the hope from the publisher that people somehow will buy it within that time frame is shallow as fuck.
Only gullible teenagers who can't control themselves fall into this category and would maybe make a few sales more for the publisher.
Everyone else just gets it on steam and refunds it the same hour if it's terrible or waits for crack to determine whether to buy it or not.

Don't forget the collective Nintendo pants shitting when BotW got emulated.
>>
>>379258603
I love emulation. I adore it. I think it's incredibly valuable, if not among the absolutely most valuable things for gaming to prosper all things considered.
But I really don't like CEMU. DRM infested trash. It pretty much shits all over respectable efforts like Dolphin and other past efforts. It sets an absolutely terrible precedent.

Also. CEMU's emulation of BotW really is far from perfect. It's really cool what it can do but it's no doubt far from perfect. It's really disingenuous to pretend otherwise. And doing so is disrespectful to the art of emulation itself, as well as disrespectful to anyone with an interest to emulate the game, since doing so might very well give them false expectations.

I almost can't believe that emulation has almost grown to be its own camp of elitist "console" warring faggots. If anything emulation has been as successful as it has been due to the overall open natured efforts, that has been overall respected by pretty much everyone.
I'll never understand how "Nintendo fans" or "Sony fans" or any fans of anything, will ever be "BTFO:d" by being granted the ability to emulate their hardware. It's a great boon. A gift. Extra tools. It's all things considered an upgrade.

/v/ has among the absolute emulation threads around. This ever present console warring mentality and rampant falseflagging shitposting and anti file sharing corporate shilling. Emulation discussion on /v/ attracts all the worst parts about /v/ all at once. It's awful.
