What do you want in Pikmin 4?
>make it more like Pikmin 2
>make it longer than Pikmin 3

I feel like something between Pikmin 2 & 3 would be my dream Pikmin 4.

Pikmin 3 Gameplay
Pikmin 2 Length
For it to not be a fucking 2d platformer
>>379213979
Like Pikmin 3 but longer and with more challenging optional bosses.
Not really a fan of caves but I'd be fine with them returning as side content.
Pikmin 2s dungeons (or sub levels) with pikmin 3s comfy overworld and cool bosses. Also I want to look for more interesting shit than fruit. I rank the games
2>3>1 but they are all fantastic.
Actual consequence for failure. Like, I loved 3's system in concept, but in practice they threw so much fruit at you that the limit became meaningless. The most excitement I had in that game was when Fuckhead Louie stole all of your supplies and you HAD to get fruit in a new area because you almost certainly cleared out the regions you already explored. It was fun and tense, and actually pushed me to work quickly.

>Pikmin 3 Gameplay
NO
>>379215898
Why not?
No fucking caves.
I was disappointed that 3 emphasized multi-tasking using the wiiU touch pad but didn't really have big areas that required it. That probably would've been really useful in pikmin 1.

The gamepad was optional so they really couldn't make it a requirement but I see your point.

Yes. Pikmin 3 has some REALLY great tools for the player. However, the game is already easy enough that there's no reason to use these tools without simply going for a speedrun.

>le pikmin 2 was bad meme
Making Pikmin 3 an open world game was the worst thing they could have fucking done to the series
This is gonna sound really controversial, but I'd like to see them try an open world Pikmin game.
They could do a thing where your ship loses its main power generator and can't even travel up to the atmosphere, so each night you stay down on the ground and have your ship spend a little of your remaining reserve power to project a barrier that keeps creatures out of your safe haven.
The main goal is to collect energy sources like batteries, wires, and precious ores to keep your ship functioning until you can find a replacement for your main generator. As you get further from your starting area, you find other havens that your ship can fly to, but it costs a tremendous amount of power to do so, leading to scenarios where you have to decide if you want to risk having your Pikmin take a long journey back to your ship, or call your ship over towards your haul to shorten the journey.

Pikmin 3 isn't any more open than 1
>>379216439
Are you kidding me? The levels were at least 3 times as big
>>379213979
>FUCKING PIKLOPEDIA
>Character upgrades
>Similar time system to 3, but more challenging
>Explosion proof Pikmin
>Indoor level like Fortress of Festivity
>More enemy variety
>>379216498
big levels =/= open world
>>379213979
>All seven kinds of Pikmin
>make Rock Pikmin different from Purple Pikmin (explosion proof, strong defenses, but weaker offense, etc.)
>bring back dungeons, but don't let them take center stage in terms of amount of treasure, keep it 50/50
>more character updates like Pikmin 2 boss treasures but expanded
>more diversity in levels and enemies
That's really it.
