Until Nintendo wakes the fuck up and realizes that major events like the Switch reveal are the only things to get people interested, major media outlets won't give a fuck about media outlets. Directs are for franchise specific presentations such as Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, and Pokemon, and they should have major E3 presentations to get crowd reveals, journalists watching, and journalists reporting.

Nintendo Directs only serve to make sure that they have multiple takes for each portion and don't have to worry about making absolute asses of themselves on stage just like the last four years they were doing these presentations.
