Because keiji inafune brought great shame to Capcom and every other classic Japanese publisher.
And because their sales trailed off. Megamanzx series didn't sell so we'll and StarForce didn't either. Compared to previous entries anyway
Development costs kept growing over the years, and Mega Man stayed a niche franchise. Battle Network was the last time it showed any significant profit, and those games were Mega Man in name only.
