Port is fantastic. Your enjoyment on the game kinda depends on how you play the game. If you play it like gears of war and stick to cover you'll hate it, if try and keep moving and do fun shit and get up close to enemies it gets really fun. It's also extremely short and doesn't overstay its welcome.

I would say change the PC game to Nier even though I know the port wasn't all that great for people with mid tier systems.

Judging the quality of a game before it's actually given time to age is something only children, trendfollowing hipsters and manchildren do.

Besides Zelda, it's been a shit year.
Persona was shit, Resident Evil was pointless.

Everything else coming out is shitty, maybe Mario will be good, doubt it tho. It's been 7 years since Nintendo made an average Mario game. RDR2 got delayed(expected) God of War and Last of Us 2 will likely be after 2017.

I assume a new Pokemon will come out, and FFXIV as a new expansion, so at least I have some grinding I can do.

1+2 are extremely basic games where your basic attack is literally with your face. You bump into enemies from certain angles and deal damage that way. Takes some time to get used to and you'll die a shit ton in the beginning but once you get the hand of it you'll be Adol the face raper.

The stories for each game are self contained with their connections being minimal: they're in the same world, each continent has their own deities/lore and Adol just wants adventure, sometimes there's interconnected lore between religions/deities but its easy enough to follow even if you dont play with the numerical order.

I would normally say to start with Oath in Felghana(remake of 3) but its the highest point of the series and I feel people cant appreciate the rest of the series if they start with that.

If you can stomach older playstyles go with this order:
1+2, Napishtim, Felghana, Origins, Seven, Celcetta. Basically the release order. If not, start with Felghana and you'll probably forget the rest of the series even exists.
You can play everything listed on PC. Even Celcetta.

The thing is these releases didnt happen with the numerical order and and the devs put all sorts of slight references you'll only get if you play with the release order which I posted. Also different engines/improvements to gameplay from older to newer releases you'll only appreciate if you play with release order.

While what has been of the year has been amazing, it seems to me that the second half doesn't looks as good. There is Splatoon on July and then pretty much nothing interesting until the end of the year with the obligatory big Mario game a Nintendo console.
