do you think /vr/ was a mistake or a good idea? it seems like unnecessary splitting of the board. /vp/ was absolutely necessary, /vg/ arguably so, but /vr/ seems to only be useful for isolating conversations about half of all video games to another barely visited board. they only have 4m posts for god's sake
If you can't understand why /vr/ exists then you are the kind of person they want to avoid.

Yes /vr/ is a nice comfy board that actually likes playing and discussing games. Although in all honesty it has kinda started morphing into a subreddit lately.
XD IT'S FLANALLY TIME
so it's the opposite of a containment board?

Being slow isn't a justification for getting rid of a board. /v/ is arguably worse off for being so fast on the opposite side of the spectrum, too much controversy and drama gets flooded with replies because of how many people there are here. /vr/ is a safe haven for people who actually want to discuss videogames, and retro is a good cut off point for most of the underage and types of people who ruin /v/
post the run one

It's nice to have lower traffic and ha e threads stay up much longer.
I can have a puyo puyo thread last weeks in /vr/ but here it usually dies out quickly.
