I mean, shit, anon, I thought Zelda looked pretty good, and I played it on a 60in TV. Yeah, screenshots look bad due to Nintendo compressing the fuck out of them, especially the ones that have the camera pulled to an angle you wouldn't normally get or are from the treehouse livestreams, but the game itself looks just fine in motion aside from the part of the lost woods with the master sword pedestal, because the framerate just fucking tanks there for some reason. It's another case of artstyle beating out raw graphical fidelity, in the same vein as games like Katamari or VVVVVV.
And no, I'm not a Nintendofag or anything before console war shit starts up towards me. I own a PS4 and a PC with a GTX 1060 on top of my Switch. I just haven't understood this "THE SWITCH'S GRAPHICS LOOK LIKE SHIT" meme.

Ports out of the ass, I'm hyped for Splatoon 2 but one game isn't enough and Arms looks like it's going to be another game that dies in a month like Pokken did.

They are always one step forward two steps backwards.
Games like BotW show this perfectly.

They do something ambitious with the LoZ IP and it's overall pretty great, but the game also loses a lot of depth in the process.
The achieved a great world size and exploration. But most of the things to find are just that, things to find that don't feel all that special.

Almost all their games have this problem or they just rehash.
They're also behind most other devs in the industry.
They get by on the history behind their brand name and nostalgia for their IPs, but that has been dwindling

A lot of nintendo games as of recent were having the handholding problem. Now it's a mixed bag - MK8D has it in spades, BotW doesn't at all. Only time will tell if they fail again or actually improve.

A lot of these franchises are riding on nostalgic references, allusions and so on, and if you didn't grow up with Nintendo they hold no real interest. I mean, Zelda's oracle games were fun but I'm not dropping 300 for one game

And I don't want to touch them. Splatoon looks like it's gonna hold me for a couple rounds and then shelfwarm, ARMS like every other fighting game out there seems uninteresting, and all those gimmick games are just gimmicks.
