I'd consider MGS2 if they didn't ruin the plot point over Solidus being confused for Solid. Both have the same VA in moon land.

John Cygan sounded amazing as Solidus, but yes, it's weird to see the cutscenes in Japanese and both Snake and Solidus sound the same.

Then again, Raiden sounds like a man in Japanese, so it wouldn't be the first thing that went off.

Chie and Teddie and Kanji have different voices. Kanji sounds the exact same so its fine, loses a bit of the oomph and great acting that Troy Baker has. Teddie sounds very similar as well so its not a big loss. Chie sounds worse, very squeaky like anime shit instead of the original more husky, deeper, soothing voice.

I see, only spin off I played was Arena 1 and I think that was the last time everyone had their original voice besides Chie and Teddie. All in all, I prefer the original 4s voice acting for Chie but Golden is easily the better game

Chie doesn't even sound like anime
She sounds like a shitty kids cartoon from the 80s
Really takes away a lot of the protective feeling she gave to Yukiko

What actually happened is that they reused all of Troy's lines from P4, but they used Mercer for any new lines that had to be recorded for the new content. Thankfully Mercer can sound a lot like Troy Baker when he wants to, so most people don't even notice
