If you want to start competing you have to learn a ton. Have fun learning most of the strings in the game+frame data, because if you don't know that one launcher is only -8 you are gonna get bodied trying to punish it. Right now you also have the shitty situation that most veterans are still below green ranks and fuck your day up.
The initial learning curve is pretty steep compared to SFV, which is the game most people compare T7 to.
