Immersive world that was believable and explorable in a way the other two games don't even attempt
Three times as many quests not counting the way the main story was split up
Speaking of which, actually decision making in the main story
Huge thematic value
Interesting and expansive lore that stayed true to Fallout's history
Likable characters were everywhere
Game world wasn't structured around cool points and level scaling which at least invited the idea of high risk high reward
Art design was great
DLCs were great or at least better than the other two

So yeah, lot of stuff went really well, but it mostly comes back to talented and committed writers. Would have been amazing to see what they could've done if the game hadn't been rushed so much.
