Is a random $500 laptop enough to play recent games like Tekken 7?

(It's okay if graphics aren't the best.)
>>
>>379062296
No, but a PS4 is
>>

>random $500 laptop
You'd be playing russian rulette.
No, a price point and "laptop" are not enough information. Specs vary a fuckton depending on the manufacturer, the model and the age of the machine.

Yes, you can find perfectly gaming-capable laptops for 500 bucks, but typical off-shelf stuff is going to cost more.
>>
Spec?

To be fair, this generation's games has bloated requirements that makes it run poorly even on lowest settings. So, I wouldn't advise going for a laptop for playing today's games.
>>
You will need an i5 at the minimum, ideally an i7. If the laptop has an i3 or a pentium no.
>>
>>379062296
>laptop

ah yes an exemplary neo-/v/'s PC master race

Wrong.
A machine with i3 but a good GPU is going to dominate a laptop without dedicated GPU.

should i get this prebuilt lad
>>
>>379062296

No.
>carefully picked
Yes.

Either way, a 500$ self-built desktop would have no problem playing anything at 1080p/60fps at the moment.
>>
>>379062690
What he said technically is right. No I3 laptop afaik has dedicated gpu. So buying a I5 laptop will increase your chance of getting a laptop with dedicated gpu
>>
>>379062690
Discrete gpus in laptops begin at around a grand, and they generally don't bother with them until the system already has an i5

I don't have any specific model in mind, but if you do have suggestions at this price point, I'll be glad to hear them.

>>379062585
I'm not a /v/ regular, hence my question.
>>
>>379062757
Nah don't that's 200-300$ overpriced
>>
~$700 is the bare minimum. You can get the Inspiron 15 Gaming for $680 which has the GTX 960M equipped
>>
>>379062757
>Prebuilt
Stick to consoles please.
>>
>>379062757
it's actually pretty damn good, and OK-ish priced too for its specs.

>>379062815
>No I3 laptop afaik has dedicated gpu.
Wrong. I've had one for years. 2012 model PackardBell Easynote with i3 @ 2.1ghz, 6GB RAM and GT 540M 1GB. Got it for mere 399€, brand new, off store shelf.
>>
>>379062757
With monitor and shit?

I remembered on other thread where an anon bought a prebuilt that same spec without a gpu, and bought himself a 1080, and the price is technically not more expensive than building pc yourself.
>>
>>379062864
>Discrete gpus in laptops begin at around a grand,
Negative. What kind of ancient myths are you people living by? You only stare at Alienware's catalogs or something?

Stuff like Lenovo Y50 / Y510p can be bought for mere 600 bucks, and they come with SLI GTX 755M or single GTX 760M. They did cost mere 700-800 bucks back in the days as well.

There's already new Asus machines with GTX 1050 going for 800 bucks, brand new.
>>
>>379062871
On $500 range, I wouldn't getting one for gaming because most of them are dual cores ultrabooks with below average gpus. I like this anon >>379062925, and the newer Inspiron 15 got 1050 so get that instead.
>>
>>379062757
You're overpaying about $100 if they're skimping on ram and PSU quality, otherwise that's a decent price with almost no prebuilt tax.
That said, you probably don't need the i7 so you could save $200 extra if you built it yourself.

I know a PS4 is normally the cheapest option, but I'm often moving between different countries and I'm not going to travel with a PS4 and a 27" monitor every week.

I need something portable, and not a Switch.
>>
>>379062975
2012 was 5 years ago anon. Nowadays i3 rarely got good gpus, the best one I've ever seen was an Acer with 940m.

Not exactly a problem since today's Intel HD is really decent.

>>379063307
7. It just works. Or maybe 8.1 with classic shell.
>>
>>379062925
>>379063170
Okay, $680 is still reasonable, I'll investigate about this one.
>>
>>379063482
Go for it. My mate got the 960m version and it was legit the best cheap gaming laptop out there. The only thing I didn't liked was the design but there are far more gayman laptops with even dogshit design out there.
>>
>>379062296
i can play it on my 3 year old lenovo y50-70 with a stable 60fps at 720p. But that was 1000 bucks back then.
>>
I have a GT 540m Asus laptop that runs Resident Evil VII at 40-50fps on medium settings.
>>
>>379063928
RE7 runs really good
>>
My A10 9600p laptop has no problems running BlazBlue or GG
Not sure about Tekken, but it might run

not OP but quick question what is a good hit box for pc?
>>

7, any day.
Failing that, W8.1 is a-OK middleground with tweaks.
>>
>>379062296
If you look hard enough you might find one with a gpu for 600-700. If money is an issue I would get a switch, it might not have 3rd party games but its better than laptops at that price point.
>>
>>379064409
id rather buy all from the same place and actually get everything at the same time, rather then buy it form 10 different places.
