PS4 version is comparable to a good PC on high but not maximum settings. You can even use a kb/m with it. Has slightly longer load times in super populated areas but that's it.

It's not a very graphic intensive game. My shitty laptop can run it on max with no problem.

I mean, depending on how new you are, it could just be inexperience. Also, if you're melee and not doing positionals, you're screwing yourself (a lot if you're MNK/DRG, kind of not so much as NIN). If you have a shitty weapon your damage will also be shit, so consider that too. Doesn't matter what job you're playing.

If you want to improve there are guides out there that show you the optimal rotations for you class. Just look them up, practice on a target dummy, and keep in mind that those rotations are changing in two weeks. (The fundamentals of how to play properly won't so it's not wasted effort.)

All the changes in 4.0 is making me wonder if they're intending to do some drastic change in how boss fights play out.

Rotations are being simplified across the board, meaning there's less chance to fuck up due to sudden mechanics. Everyone is getting a shitton more mobility, what with BRD and MCH losing casting, BLM getting a leyline teleport, and healers getting Rescue. Everyone now has access to cc via cross-class skills, and the damage have been removed from them so people are encouranged to use them for actual cc and not just hit it for more damage every time they come off cooldown. All of this seems like it would be the perfect setup to make fights a lot more dynamic and fast-paced, and not just about memorizing that mechanic x happens at minute y and that you should go stand in spot z to avoid it.

But between SE otherwise having shown no indication to change the formula, and the fact that the one dungeon we've seen gameplay of looks incredibly similar to the dungeons we've already have, this is almost certainly wishful thinking.

I think there's a reasonable CHANCE that they manage to improve things a lot in those ways, but they're probably going to have the first raid tier of the expansion just be Creator v2.

I think they're scared shitless of having anything even remotely like Gordias in terms of the effect on the playerbase, so they're probably going to make the first raid tier completely idiot-proof with the expectation that nobody is even going to know how to play, even with simplified rotations. The "Super Savage" fight in 4.1, though, is probably going to really push the envelope and be made with Gordias-level tuning.

It'll be the second tier, I think, where they'll be willing to take some chances and design fights where people are going to have to make use of their new toolkits. In addition to the added mobility and CC you mentioned, don't forget that now EVERY tank has a short-duration, short-cooldown active mitigation tool in the vein of Inner Beast, and that PLD and DRK can actually use theirs on the other tank, at practically no DPS loss. It's entirely possible (but who knows how likely) that they could go back to Titan HM/Twintania style fights, where there are serious tankbusters going out every 30 seconds or so (or even faster than that, if they really want to get nuts).

This is Square "Literally removing dungeons from what was already more of an Expert Coinflip than an Expert Roulette" Enix though so it's best not to get your hopes up.

But it's fucked. Initial calculations imply that Heated Shots and Cooldown, not dipping into Overheat at all, does only slightly less damage than pushing all cooldowns to the limit, getting lucky with procs, overheat wildfire, and all the hardcore jazz.
In other words, skill ceiling is high, but it's not really worth it. At least it'll be easy to find relatively good MCH for a static.

The problem is BRD utility that makes MCH pale in comparison.

Ultros has a /v/ FC but reports on its quality vary from "stay the fuck away" to "not completely awful". Any of the servers will do since Duty Finder and Party Finder can recruit from the whole data center, and you can have people from different worlds on your friends list.

Timed nodes, cobalt, limestone, sometimes lumber. Just check the mat tab of the marketboard and see what you want to spend time doing. For some of these, you won't make a whole lot of cash at first, usually clumps of 50k or so. It adds up quickly.
