I don't get how you guys find this game that fun. It's pretty alright, especially for a VERY different kind of game, but to me it gets old fast.

I really like Ramen Bowl and Spring Stadium. Hate Ninja School
I really like it, but I feel $60 is a lot for what the game is offering. I kind of want to see if it'll get the Splatoon support, and offer special events + content in the upcoming months to beef it up better. Although, I'll probably pick it up if my friends do. Two of them really seem into it, so it could be fun just to play with them.

Can someone please explain to me how another player can do 300 damage to me with a series of hits? My display always glows in black and yellow when it happens.

But as Mechanica I usually am just able to do 70 damage using the rockets. How do I get her to do that much staggering damage? I know I can charge my attacks but it doesn't do 300 like others.

Sounds like your opponent is activating their super. The screen will go black and yellow when one is activated. Some of the arms when under a super charge will do inane levels of damage but only can be thrown once or twice during a super. Mechanica's rocket arms for instance can do 300-400 damage each with just the explosions. I'm assuming similar levels of damage from the heavy arms from other characters.

I encountered one who punished me in two fights by just floating, charging, and freezing/shocking me. I learned though, and countered her easily by always holding onto a Heavy arm, waiting for her to bait me, and launch her charged hits, then punishing her, or sneaking in a free throw when she whiffed hers.

How do you build charge or use charge attacks? I haven't had much time at all to play in the testpuches these past weekends.

dashing, guarding, and I think jumping all charge your arms. You had to hold the dash/guard/jump button for a moment, though. When your arm is charged the next punch will do the charged property by default, but charges don't last long.

They do a light charge right after you land from a jump or dash, if you haven't thrown out a punch. Or hold down Guard. The longer you hold it, the more they charge.
